'OzSun UV Alert' ver.1.0.1 is now available in AppStore: http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/ozsun-uv-alert/id391039128?mt=8
====================
BE AWARE AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM OVER-EXPOSURE TO SUN UV RADIATION IN AUSTRALIA !!
*** ATTENTION: This application is specific to Australia. It is only provided in the non-AU AppStores for convenience of international users who work, study or visit Australia, but do not have an Australian iTunes AppStore account.
'OzSun UV Alert' app fetches, consolidates and displays in a convenient colour-coded visual way the current actual real-time observed UV levels data available courtesy of Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) and the daily UV (aka 'SunSmart') alerts as issued to the public by Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) based on forecasts.
In addition, the app also provides shortcut links to relevant public web pages of these and other relevant agencies, where more information about UV levels for the user’s selected city can be found (accompanied by public education materials regarding sun UV exposure risks and protective measures).
The app uses the same international colour coding for UV index levels as established by the World health Organization (WHO) and adopted by the above mentioned Australian agencies as well.
Currently, the following nine major Australian cities are catered for:
ADELAIDE (SA) BRISBANE (QLD) DARWIN (NT) KINGSTON (TAS) MELBOURNE (VIC) NEWCASTLE (NSW) PERTH (WA) SYDNEY (NSW) TOWNSVILLE (QLD)
(NOTE: it is expected that more cities will be available in the future)

What's New In Version 1.1.2 Ver. 1.1.2 is a minor sub-release that fixes a bug in original release of ver. 1.1. where ranges might not display in "Speed Ranges" tableview for editing.

What's New In Version 1.1 ***
AudibleSpeed now takes full advantage of iOS4 multitasking capabilities!!When running under iOS4 environment on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 devices, the app continues to work with full functionality even when moved to the background - thus still providing a CONTINUOUS AUDIBLE MONITORING of your current speed!
What it also means is that:- you can bring some other useful app into the foreground (such as your favorite maps navigation app)OR- you can even lock (!!) your iPhone completely, so that the screen turns off and does not cause a visual distraction while driving…The app still continues to work! And when your bring it back to the foreground, it will still display all the correct data - including the speed chart for the last 80 seconds, as usually.
A great showcase of iPhone multitasking at its best,
and of AudibleSpeed's unique capability of providing a CONTINUOUS AUDIBLE MONITORING of your current speed at all times!!***
ATTENTION:Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. (Therefore, if this app is used in a vehicle, we highly recommend that you plug your iPhone into a compatible in-car charger or charging cradle/dock.)*** |
